WhatsApp channel
Send WhatsApp messages through the official Meta Cloud API or a self-hosted GOWA connection.
The WhatsApp channel reaches your contacts on WhatsApp. It supports two modes, and your credentials are encrypted at rest in both.
WhatsApp Cloud API
This mode uses the official Meta Cloud API. Configure a phone number id and an access token from your Meta account. Set it up under Channels → New → WhatsApp.
Self-hosted GOWA
This mode connects your own WhatsApp number through GOWA using QR-code pairing — the same flow as linking a device. Go to Channels → Connect → WhatsApp and scan the QR code to pair.
Author your content
Build reusable message content in Templates, then select this channel and template from a campaign's send message step. EngageApp renders the message per contact at send time.
Respect your recipients
WhatsApp is a personal channel, so apply your deliverability settings — frequency caps and quiet hours — to avoid over-messaging.
Credit cost
WhatsApp costs 5 credits per send in both Cloud API and GOWA modes.
